This post/quote is exactly what I was thinking today during my run….after almost getting hit by a car! (Maybe a slight exaggeration, but not by much.) I was running in the crosswalk at a four-way stop when a teenage driver stopped briefly at her stop sign and then stepped on the gas, driving directly towards me and getting up in my grill (or me almost getting up in her car’s grill). I looked directly at the driver and she had a sheepish smile on her face. I was annoyed, kinda scared for a second, and then just had to SMH. What was she in such a hurry for that she felt the need to start driving through the intersection before a runner had finished crossing the street? What was the rush? Maybe she was distracted and didn’t see me, or maybe just hates pedestrians. But anyway. I really like this sentiment. Don’t hurry. Don’t worry. Stay safe, pedestrians (and drivers)!
