another NEW waterfall collage

Happy Wednesday!

I just realized I didn’t post many waterfall photos from last year’s North Carolina trip. I really liked my recent CA waterfall chase trip collage, so I thought I’d belatedly make one for NC. Here we go:

a NEW favorite waterfall

Happy Tuesday!

We returned home from a fun trip where we chased a bunch of waterfalls, rode e-bikes, and hiked and hiked and hiked! So, I need to update my Waterfalls Bucket List. I believe I’ve found my NEW favorite waterfall. Burney Falls in Shasta County, California was amazing! Here are some more views from the trees as we walked down to it, and then hiked up the other side of the creek.

And here’s a longer shot of the area.

We hiked to 7 different waterfalls on our trip. I’ll try to show the other photos in upcoming posts. I debated counting more than 7 because a few had lower falls, then we hiked to the middle falls and then to upper falls, but I guess I’ll just count one falls per creek. I’m at 56 out of my bucket list of 100! Many more to go!

Have a great day. I hope you do or learn something NEW today!

NEW updates to my National Parks bucket list

Happy Monday! I have the day off work, so I’m finally dumping the photos off my camera. AND…I’m updating my National Parks Bucket List. If I counted correctly, we have 45 more National Parks to visit! We’d better make a plan and get busy.

NEW photos of mesa verde and a NEW national parks bucket list

We made a quick trip over to Colorado last weekend and visited Mesa Verde National Park. Perfect weather! Not too crowded! Nice!!! Here are a few more pics:

If you go, DEFINITELY get a guided tour. The park rangers are so knowledgeable and can answer most of your questions. The history of the area is fascinating.

Sadly, a lot of the area had burn scars because Mesa Verde is prone to lightning strikes and can receive up to 100 strikes in a 24-hour period during the summer. 70% of the park has been burned by wildfires since it was established in 1906!

One thing I love about blogging is having posts to reference anytime/anywhere. I’m going to use this post as my National Parks Bucket List and keep track of where we’ve visited and where we still need to go! So many! It will take a while to finish this big bucket list. But so fun!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

Hogsbackfalls.jpg

Happy Monday!

We’ve just returned from a week or so of traveling and now it’s time to update my “100 Waterfall Bucket List“! The photo above is of Hog’s Back Falls in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  We also saw Rideau Falls in Ottawa and Montmorency Falls near Quebec City. I really LOVE waterfalls!

AND…funny thing…I recently read this article “The Most Jaw Dropping Waterfalls in all 50 states”  and it lists the waterfall in front of the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada as that state’s best waterfall!  I understand that Nevada is the driest state and they probably don’t have any natural waterfalls.  I’ve been to the Mirage Hotel’s waterfall.  Can I count it?….Should I count it as one of my 100?  Let me know what you think! :o)
