a NEW Thursday thought

Happy Thursday!

This is a reflection of Lassen Peak viewed from Manzanita Lake. Lassen Volcanic National Park, California. Not much else to say except I hope you have a chance to reflect on your world as well as your inner world today, and I hope you see beauty in both.

Have a great day. Do or learn or read or make something NEW today!

photos of our NEW fresh coat of snow

Happy Monday!

I’m a sucker for reflections, so I think this is the favorite of my shots from today’s photo walk. Reflection in life is important too. I like to reflect on my lifestyle, choices, and accomplishments from last year before l list out my goal for the upcoming year. Yes, I’ve made my 23 for 2023 list. I’m excited to progress, but I know I’ll mess up at times. I’ve learned that’s just how it is…year after year after year! I’m not going to let that get me down. I’m just going to keep on keeping on and try to improve each day. I loved getting out in the snow today. Here are some other shots:

Have a great day! I hope you do or learn something NEW!

UPDATE: Per Terri’s suggestion in the comments, I’m linking to Sunday Stills “White & Gray”. Go take a peek at the other entries.

a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

zion3-2

Happy Sunday!  Here’s another pic from our hike in Zion National Park.  For today’s short sermon, I’ll pair this photo with a talk called ‘The Reflection in the Water’.

“Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, using the analogy of the ugly duckling, explains that young adults can find great purpose in knowing who they are.”

Here’s a small snippet of the talk after the Ugly Duckling analogy:

“…most people have felt sad or inadequate at one time or another. It’s natural to have times of self-doubt or unhappiness. The question, why should I go on living, is simply another wording of the age old phrase penned by William Shakespeare 400 years ago, and uttered by millions of Hamlets the world over since that time, “To be or not to be, that is the question. But Shakespeare was wrong. He was wrong.”

President Uchtdorf goes on to suggest some edits to Shakespeare’s Hamlet and then comments that he understands that such an edit would hopelessly ruin one of the greatest literary masterpieces of all time!  President Uchtdorf is such a great speaker and wise teacher!  I loved this sermon!  I hope you do too.

Have a terrific day! Read and learn something NEW!

a NEW reflection photo of my week #50

Reflection.  Such a good thing! This bridge was just outside our hotel room in Portland, Oregon last week.  I hope this photo will remind me to stop and reflect more often.

Also…I’ve been very excited lately to learn some close friends and family are expecting babies soon.  I LOVE children!  They are such a blessing!…and I whole-heartedly agreed with this video’s message:

Having Children In Faith

Happy Sunday!  Do or learn something NEW!
