NEW taste Tuesday

creamdessert

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been pretty busy lately and it’s a sad week if I don’t get to try anything NEW and different!  I figured since I need to fix food for my family anyway, why not make a concerted effort to try a NEW recipe at least once a week.  That’s my plan!  We’ll see how it goes.

This week I tried this NEW dessert recipe for Sunday’s dinner.  It was yummy!  I got the recipe HERE. It was easy too…especially since I bought the orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream that was already mixed together! SUPER EASY!

I’m all about simple!  This cole slaw salad was easy too, because I just bought the cole slaw mix instead of cutting and chopping up a cabbage. HERE’s that recipe….AND those are our NEW salad tongs that we brought back from our New Zealand trip.  That’ll be fun to remember that trip every time we use them.

I’m excited for the spring weather! I’m hoping to get out shooting soon.  My camera has been pretty lonely lately! Can I just put everything else I have to do on hold for a bit??  I wish! :o)

Have a great day! I hope you take the time to do or learn something NEW! I know I should take my own advice and take the time…and not to wait until I “find the time”. Right?!?

a NEW taste Tuesday

creamcicle jello.jpg

Happy Tuesday!

I just had to post this recipe today – if only for my own benefit of having the recipe ready and always available when I need it.  It was delightfully delicious! Everyone that came over for dinner the other night had a very hard time saying no to another serving…then another…then another!  My daughter-in-law mentioned it tasted like a creamsicle, so that’s what I typed up the name to be.  Yum!

Here’s the recipe:

Happy Tuesday!

Well, I did it! I had a few free hours, so I made these scrumptious yummies!

I’ve been wanting to try this recipe ever since I saw it HERE. I won’t go into why I wanted to make these, because if you read the linked post I would say the exact same thing. Really…that blogger has the same memories of alligator jaws that my sisters and I have for them!

I’ll have to make them again because the pastry wasn’t as light and fluffy as I would’ve liked. My kitchen was on the chilly side…but Epicurious has a solution for me, so I’ll have to try their suggestion next time.

Have a great day!  Do or learn something NEW!

Happy Tuesday!  Well, Saturday evening I clicked on over to Life In Between to get the coleslaw recipe I’d seen there recently, but couldn’t resist trying this raspberry tart recipe too.  It was SO easy and delicious…especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Thank you Jodi for always providing such wonderful NEW recipes for us to drool over! I made the coleslaw too, but didn’t take any pics – it was a winner too!

Have a great day!  Try a NEW recipe…or two. 🙂

a NEW taste Tuesday

dessert

Happy Tuesday! Well, I’ve got to confess that my entire system is in shock!  Hubby and I just spent ten days in Hawaii…temps in the upper 80’s and I haven’t had to prepare a single meal for over a week and a half.  BUT NOW…this is what we’ve returned to:

…and tonight we are hosting a couple dozen college students (I’m cooking dinner :o).  I thought it best to choose a very simple meal – so Hawaiian Haystacks it is, along with this very simple ‘No-Bake Hawaiian Dream Dessert’ .  Little by little I’ll come out of my shock, but these things take time, ya know!?!.  Have a great day. Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW recipe…kiwi sorbet

kiwitri

Happy Wednesday!   I made a NEW recipe this week…a very yummy kiwi sorbet and I also bought NEW tiny 2 1/2-inch dessert glasses to serve it in.  :o)

Although I like the looks of sliced kiwi to photograph, next time I make this, I think I’ll peel the kiwi  LIKE THIS video shows!  Mucho-Easier!!!

Have a great day!  Make or learn or do something NEW!

a NEW recipe…sopapilla cheesecake

Happy Tuesday!  Well, I tried a NEW recipe this week.  It was SUPER easy and delish!!! {Thanks to my sister…who made it for my Mom…who told me about it!}  Just search in Pinterest for Sopapilla Cheesecake and lots of recipes pop up!  I had FUN with this photoshoot…because I finally used the vintage beaters I acquired some time ago (THIS POST featured my hunt for those :o)

Have a great day!  Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW recipe and a NEW use for an old kitchen tool

pbbarswithmilk2

I recently got this REALLY YUMMY recipe for Peanut Butter bars from a co-worker….and I’m not even that big of a fan of PB!  But, the recipe is quick, easy and delicious.  My kind of recipe!  The first time I made these, I was PLAIN-JANE and simply cut them in to squares; but this time, I used an old kitchen tool that rarely gets used and made them crinkle-cutted-ed-ed 🙂  I wanted to fancy them up a bit to take to a neighbor.  Whatdoyathink???  I know they’ll disappear soon!  They taste just like Reeses Peanut Butter cups.  If you like PB…try these! (or something else NEW)!

a NEW…EASY cookie recipe

raspcookiebars

I tried this NEW recipe recently.  And it’s a KEEPER!!!  I took a batch of these yummies to a social a few weeks ago.  My husband was chatting with some 12 year old boys that were visiting the dessert table (more than once)!  He asked them which cookie they liked best, and they loved these the best!  They did NOT know who brought them…so this was a blind study :o)  Lovely combination of flavors and easy, eaSY, EASY to put together!  Try them!

I found the recipe HERE.
