NEW taste Tuesday

creamdessert

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been pretty busy lately and it’s a sad week if I don’t get to try anything NEW and different!  I figured since I need to fix food for my family anyway, why not make a concerted effort to try a NEW recipe at least once a week.  That’s my plan!  We’ll see how it goes.

This week I tried this NEW dessert recipe for Sunday’s dinner.  It was yummy!  I got the recipe HERE. It was easy too…especially since I bought the orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream that was already mixed together! SUPER EASY!

I’m all about simple!  This cole slaw salad was easy too, because I just bought the cole slaw mix instead of cutting and chopping up a cabbage. HERE’s that recipe….AND those are our NEW salad tongs that we brought back from our New Zealand trip.  That’ll be fun to remember that trip every time we use them.

I’m excited for the spring weather! I’m hoping to get out shooting soon.  My camera has been pretty lonely lately! Can I just put everything else I have to do on hold for a bit??  I wish! :o)

Have a great day! I hope you take the time to do or learn something NEW! I know I should take my own advice and take the time…and not to wait until I “find the time”. Right?!?

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

feather1

Happy Monday!  Yeah, this is a random/miscellaneous photo I took recently.  If anyone can tell me the name of this plant, please chime in – I’m interested to know.  Since it’s hard to see the perspective from this photo…these were a lot taller than I am!

Other random stuff I’ve done or noticed lately:

  1. I enjoyed listening to “Racing Porcupines” on my way to work a few days ago.  Good motivational stuff!
  2. I studied a few parables of Jesus recently and was interested to learn that most parables are included in the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke…but not in the Gospel of John – there’s just allegories in the Book of John. I was also interested in the categorization of the parables…especially the eschatological parables.
  3. I was at a luncheon this week and they served a kale/quinoa/pomegranate salad that looked really Christmassy-Red-and-Green.  I wonder if I could pull off serving something like that at my house (???) I tried to find a recipe, but nothing popped up.  Anyone have any clues of where to find a similar-sounding recipe?

Have a great Monday!  Do or learn something New!

a NEW recipe…to use up my basil with

basildressing

Happy Friday!  I kind of, sort of…pretty much forgot about the basil that I planted early this summer.  It didn’t seem to be doing all that great in the heat, but my hubby brought in some last night and said there was quite a bit more.  So, I tried this NEW salad dressing recipe.  The recipe called for 2 1/2 cups of chopped basil.  Normally, that might be a bit much to harvest all at one time, but we had plenty of it!

Here’s the Recipe:

Hi all! Well, yesterday when I was looking through the photos on my phone for Friday’s post, look what I found!  I had forgotten I took a quick pic of this yummy salad I made for a 4th of July BBQ!  I knew I MUST share the recipe with all of you!  It’s a copycat recipe from a very popular café in my area…Zupa’s Café.  HERE’S where I found the recipe.

Have a great Saturday!  Do or Learn something NEW!
