another NEW photo of Jenny Lake and a Sunday message

Happy Sunday!

I realized I didn’t include this peaceful shot of Jenny Lake when I posted most of my other photos from our trip to the Tetons. Isn’t this lake beautiful?

Also, I listened to an old audiobook from author/speaker Jim Rohn recently and appreciated the message below. I hope you like it too:

The Gardener and God

There’s a story about a man who took a rock pile and in two years, turned it into a fabulous garden. And people came from everywhere to see it.

One day, a man came by and saw the garden and thought it was fabulous, but he wanted to make sure the gardener did not take all the credit. He had this deep feeling inside that a lot of people leave God out.

So the man toured the garden to have the chance to meet the gardener. He eventually found the gardener, shook his hand and said, “Mr Gardener, you and the good Lord together have made this beautiful garden.”

The gardener immediately understood his message and his point. So he replied, “I think that’s true. If it’s not for the sunshine and the rain, and the miracle of the seeds and the soil and the seasons, there would be no garden at all.”

And he continued, “But you know, you should have seen this place a couple of years ago when God had it all by himself.”

Have a peaceful Sunday and I hope you do or learn something NEW!

a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

goodmorning

Happy Sunday!

I love it when I actually have my camera in my car when I see such beauty as this sunrise. I was on my way to work and just had to pull over to get this pic. I agree that “God is the best artist”!

For today’s short sermon, I’ll simple paste a few items from THIS excellent speech by President Deiter F. Uchtdorf:

The Bottom Line

This topic of judging others could actually be taught in a two-word sermon. When it comes to hating, gossiping, ignoring, ridiculing, holding grudges, or wanting to cause harm, please apply the following:  Stop it!

***

Is this difficult to do?

Yes, of course.

How is it done? Through the love of God.

***

My dear brothers and sisters, consider the following questions as a self-test:

Do you harbor a grudge against someone else?

Do you gossip, even when what you say may be true?

Do you exclude, push away, or punish others because of something they have done?

Do you secretly envy another?

Do you wish to cause harm to someone?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may want to apply the two-word sermon from earlier: stop it!

a NEW simple photo and a short Sunday sermon

simplepears2

Happy Sunday!   I’m really, really, REALLY late to Kim Klassen’s ‘Simple Pear’ link up.  Too late to link up…but I saw so many beautifully simple pear photos, that I was totally inspired!  I just had to find time to make it to the market for pears. :o)

I have to say I’m in love with simplicity.  Simple still-life photos are the best!  Simplicity in other areas of life is also SO important.  For my short Sunday sermon, please  watch this message:  EVEN  A CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND…because God would indeed be unjust if the gospel were accessible only to an intellectual elite.  HE keeps it simple!

Have a great week ahead!  Do or learn something NEW!
