Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge

I’ve loved browsing through many or YOUR Cee’s Foto Challenges….and now I finally have an entry.  I’m Cee’s NEW-est participant!  This little guy was posing for us on one of our hikes in Zion National Park.  Sadly, I think he must be used to tourists feeding him…what do you think?

a NEW majestic discovery

kolob

Hi all!  Well we’ve been away to Zion National Park for the last three days and had a good time hiking some NEW trails and visiting extended family that we haven’t seen for many, many years.   I’ll post some pics from some of our hikes later, but today I’ve got to tell you of our NEW majestic discovery.  There’s a very unassuming exit on Interstate 15 in Southern Utah that says ‘Kolob Canyon – Scenic Drive’.  We’ve passed by that exit sooooooo many times!!!  Here is the view from the freeway:

Yeah, now you know why we’ve never stopped, right!?!  BUT if you travel just a couple of miles west of Interstate 15, you’d have the view of the top photo….and if you actually take the scenic drive, here’s just one of the views of the very majestic canyon walls you’d see:

Now not all ‘scenic drives’ are created equal.  But…when you’re in Southern Utah, be sure to take the Kolob Canyon scenic drive.  It’s only five miles out of your way and TOTALLY worth the effort!  It’s actually part of Zion National Park, but on the very north end and not accessible through the main park.

a NEW-sized {for us} chocolate chip cookie

cookies2

Hi all!  Well, at our house, if we take the time to make homemade chocolate chip cookies, we usually load that cookie scoop up to the max, and plop the dough onto the cookie sheet and it doesn’t take too long at all to bake.  BUT…today I tried something NEW and made mini bite-sized cookies and decided I really like them that size.  Just pop one in your mouth and take a swig of cow-juice, and….oh yum!  It takes a bit longer to bake them when they’re tiny, but that’s ok.  (Our wonderful chocolate chip cookie recipe is in this post here).

Have a great Saturday!  Do or Learn something NEW!

a NEW iPhone Friday Photo

Happy Friday!  So I found that my phone can zoom in closer than I thought!  This photo is quite noisy, and I’d prefer a real macro lens….but as I walked into work a few days ago, my phone is all I had on me to get this shot.  I guess it’s better than nothing – and I feel like I’m training myself to LOOK for photo opportunities.  Have a great day!  Do or Learn something NEW!

a few NEW signs and sign holders

DSC_0005

Happy Wednesday!  I’ve been trying to whittle down my wedding preparation to-do list, and thought I’d share our latest NEW project.  For my son’s wedding luncheon, we’re having the main course catered, but I’m doing a dessert bar and an Italian Soda bar.  SO!  Look what my fabulous hubby made:  wooden sign holders!  I like them a LOT.  I may distress the corners a bit…then again, maybe not.  Whatdayathink?

I printed the signs from Our Best Bites.

There’s a few more projects on the list, so I’ll be busy trying NEW things!  Have a great day!  Do or Learn something NEW!

For starters, I LOVED this quote:

“As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”

~ C.S. Lewis

And….this:

And lastly…a great post quoting Psalm 121 at Tidbits n Treasures

It LOOKS like my theme of the day is: LOOK UP!  Have a great day.  Do or Learn something NEW!
