a NEW iPhone Friday photo…and a NEW recipe
So I took a photo of my dinner with my phone on Wednesday….because I need to keep my Friday phone pic theme going, right? Well this soup was delicious. It was a freezer meal from my dear friend {I’ve posted about freezer meals previously}…so it’s a NEW recipe for me too! Have a great Friday! Do or Learn…OR EAT something NEW!

NEW edits of old photos
Happy Tuesday! I’ve been editing a few old photos lately. This photo of my son was taken with a standard point and shoot camera quite a few years ago. {The shadow is my favorite part of this photo} Thank goodness for digital photography! What did we ever do without it?!? Now to decide if I just keep them on my computer…print them, order a photo book, or what! Any ideas? They are all pretty random old photos. Hmmmm… let me know what you think.
Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff I gotta share
Happy Monday! I’ve been busy, busy, busy! My son is getting married in less than four weeks….(yeah, yeah, I know I’m not the mother-of-the bride, but I still have stuff to do! :o) I’ve also had fun watching my other son play baseball {yup, that’s a photo of the goof-ball above…lookin’ soooooo….ummm what?….like a goof-ball!!!} High School tennis is just recently done with, which gives us a bit of breathing room, and then just regular life has kept us busy. It’s all a good busy. But I just wanted to share a few random NEW things that have crossed my virtual path lately:
Why have I never heard of Sweet Potato Pound Cake?…..***OR*** Manure Tea? Both are NEW to me!
Also, I’ve been on an organization kick lately….or at least getting geared up to be organized by watching a few organization tutorials on YouTube. This one amazed me…could I really be that obsessive with my fabric stash??? Check it out HERE.
Have a great day! Do or Learn something NEW!
a NEW Friday iPhone photo
Ok….this iPhone photo was taken out my car window (obviously dirty window…sorry for the smudge). Sadly, it does NOT do this sunset justice, because you really can’t see the texture that was really in the sky that evening. The cloud ripples that night were truly amazing! But at least I had my phone on me and I have this photo to remind me of that amazing scene I witnessed. Have a great Friday! Do or Learn something NEW!

NEW photo of my week #44
Hi all! Here’s another NEW photo of my week. Again, don’t you wish you could smell these roses? Photographs do such a great job at duplicating the sight of things…wouldn’t it be great if someone would invent a good scent duplicator?!? (Not just the very artificial perfume rose scent). Ahhhh…maybe someday :o)
Happy Wednesday! Do or Learn something NEW!
Mothers of all generations….Happy Mothers Day!
Happy Mothers day! I just had to share my favorite photo of my own Mother (who is now in her 80’s). Doesn’t she look so sweet?
Mother’s Day is a good day to remember that Mothers and Fathers sacrifice a lot for their families. I really liked this ‘Ode To Mothers’ video on Ancestry.com’s YouTube channel.
Family historians seem to forget about the mothers sometimes….just because they are trying to trace the paternal lines back another generation. I’m traveling to Minnesota this summer and hope to research my husband’s great-grandmother that immigrated there. From what we know, it looks like she immigrated before she was married, but her parents were still in Norway. Did she travel alone? Why did she come? What was her life like? Mothers of all generations are a part our families and it’s good to have a day to honor them all. Have a lovely day celebrating Motherhood!
a secret garden….my NEW ideas, plans and dreams
{source}
Happy Saturday! So….ever since I read this post about making a secret garden, I’ve been having NEW ideas, plans and dreams about doing the same thing. We have a section of our yard that would be WILL BE perfect for a secret garden! It was formerly our vegetable garden, but we moved it when our neighbor’s trees got so big that our vegetables were too shaded. There really is no outlet in that corner of the yard because of the fence, so it’s just a perfect spot for a NEW secret hideaway. Yes, there’s lots of other projects that may be higher on the priority list, but I thought if I posted my plans…somehow the universe would make it happen…eventually. :o)
Here’s a few things I really want in my secret garden:
#1 Mosaics!
The theme of my secret garden is going to be this great quote:
What may seem now to be mere unconnected pieces of tile will someday,
when we look back, take form and pattern, and we will realize
that God was making a mosaic.
-Neal A. Maxwell
#2 A hammock, lounge or palette bed:
#3 A water feature
and #4 lots and lots and lots of beautiful plants (preferably flowering plants!)
What do you think? It’s still in the dream stage, so if any of you have any wonderful ideas that I should add to my list, please share!!!
Have a great day! Do or Learn….OR PLAN something NEW!
