a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday! These autumn trees standing tall and standing together pairs perfectly with an awesome sermon by Sheri L. Dew.  This talk is called: “Stand Tall and Stand Together”…and it was a fabulous message! She says:

No woman is a more vibrant instrument in the hands of the Lord than a woman of God who is thrilled to be who she is.

But there is A LOT more terrific counsel in the talk.  Read and enjoy!

Here’s another message on the ‘Standing Tall’ theme:  You reach the greatest heights while on your knees.

Happy Sunday!

For today’s short sermon, I’ll share a story I recently heard about prayer:

A grandfather was visiting his son’s family and one evening after dinner and homework, the grandfather climbed the stairs with the grandson who was on his way to his bedroom to get ready for bed.  The grandfather said, “Remember to say your prayers”.  The grandson replied, “Oh, I always say my prayers. I never forget!”.  Since the grandson was so emphatic, the grandfather decided he’d stand outside the door and listen. The 5-year old grandson proceeded to vocally say his evening prayer. He thanked his Heavenly Father for various things. He asked for various blessings.  Then at the end of the prayer, this 5-year old said, “Now, Heavenly Father, is there anything you’d like to tell me?”

What a good example to us! We need to remember that prayer is meant to be two-way communication.  We need to ask God what he’d like to tell us – and then listen!
