a NEW update to my waterfall bucket list

Happy Friday!

A few weeks ago, we traveled to Colorado and hiked to a few waterfalls. So, I’m updating my 100 Waterfall Bucket List. I’m up to 58. Lesson learned though: Don’t go in May if you want to hike to more waterfalls, because there’s still too much snow. Many of the trails were closed. Bummer!

The photo above is Cascade Falls in Ouray, Colorado. Below is Box Cañon Falls, in Ouray.

Over the mountain from Ouray is Telluride, Colorado. That’s where we planned to do more hiking, but at least we could see Bridal Veil Falls from afar.

We enjoyed these dramatic clouds while we traveled to our son and DIL’s graduation.

That’s it for today’s photo dump. :o)

I hope you have a terrific day and do or learn something NEW!

a NEW favorite waterfall

Happy Tuesday!

We returned home from a fun trip where we chased a bunch of waterfalls, rode e-bikes, and hiked and hiked and hiked! So, I need to update my Waterfalls Bucket List. I believe I’ve found my NEW favorite waterfall. Burney Falls in Shasta County, California was amazing! Here are some more views from the trees as we walked down to it, and then hiked up the other side of the creek.

And here’s a longer shot of the area.

We hiked to 7 different waterfalls on our trip. I’ll try to show the other photos in upcoming posts. I debated counting more than 7 because a few had lower falls, then we hiked to the middle falls and then to upper falls, but I guess I’ll just count one falls per creek. I’m at 56 out of my bucket list of 100! Many more to go!

Have a great day. I hope you do or learn something NEW today!

another NEW bucket list update…my waterfall bucket list this time

Happy Tuesday! What?! Posting two days in a row? Amazing, haha!

Well, after updating my National Parks bucket list yesterday, I had to also update my 100 Waterfalls bucket list today. While at Grand Teton National Park, we hiked around Jenny Lake and up to this wonderful waterfall. It’s called Hidden Falls. We could’ve taken a boat across the lake and then up to these falls, but we opted to hike around the lake. It was beautiful and peaceful.

There’s something about bucket lists that make crossing off items so much fun! If I haven’t forgotten any, this is my 49th waterfall visit. 51 to go until I retire this particular bucket list.

It was fun to visit this NEW (to me) waterfall. Have a great day and I hope you learn or do something NEW today too!

NEW updates to my waterfalls bucket list

Happy Sunday!

Well, October passed in a blink, right!?! We had a blast the last week of October. We traveled to Asheville, North Carolina, and saw the beautiful fall colors in the area right at their peak! How lucky was that? Some areas, like in the Great Smoky National Park were past peak, but around Asheville the colors were GORGEOUS!

We hiked almost every day and saw multiple waterfalls. So, today I updated my Waterfalls Bucket List. We added 11 to the list, just from this trip, and we barely scratched the surface of NC Waterfalls!

Our hikes were spectacular! Perfect weather for hiking and check out these colors:

Another waterfall…

I’ll probably share more pics in a few days if I get around to it.

If you Google “Best places to visit in the fall”, Asheville NC is top of the list. I definitely agree, Google!!!

Have a great day. Do or learn something NEW!

NEW update on my waterfall bucket list

Vernal Falls, Yosemite National Park

Happy Friday! Well, in the last year and a half, I think I visited about 7 NEW waterfalls, so I thought I’d better update my Waterfall Themed Bucket List {HERE}. I’m up to about 34, so lots more to see until I get to 100!

Visiting Yosemite National Park gave us ample opportunities to check off a few! Beautiful!

Have a great weekend and I hope you get to do or learn something NEW!

a NEW Thursday thought

mesafalls2.png

Happy Thursday! I hope my future self will thank me for chasing all the waterfalls that I do! Last weekend I crossed off another one off my waterfall bucket list.  This is Mesa Falls in Idaho – near the south end of Yellowstone Park.  It was very chilly, but the strength of the water rushing over the cliff was fantastic.  I chased this little guy around, trying to get his photo…squirrel.jpg

The top photo is known as ‘Upper Mesa Falls’, and this is Lower Mesa Falls:

What are you going to do today that your future self will thank you for?  Leave a comment and let me know! Do something NEW!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

Hogsbackfalls.jpg

Happy Monday!

We’ve just returned from a week or so of traveling and now it’s time to update my “100 Waterfall Bucket List“! The photo above is of Hog’s Back Falls in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  We also saw Rideau Falls in Ottawa and Montmorency Falls near Quebec City. I really LOVE waterfalls!

AND…funny thing…I recently read this article “The Most Jaw Dropping Waterfalls in all 50 states”  and it lists the waterfall in front of the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada as that state’s best waterfall!  I understand that Nevada is the driest state and they probably don’t have any natural waterfalls.  I’ve been to the Mirage Hotel’s waterfall.  Can I count it?….Should I count it as one of my 100?  Let me know what you think! :o)
