a NEW song-ography

Happy Sunday!

I’ve been wanting to play along with a song-ography at You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out for a long time…and I finally got to it!  Yesterday hubby and I went on a hike to see this waterfall.  Well, it was quite the adventure!  We made it to this look-out point, but somehow we missed the trail to go down to the actual falls.  It started pouring rain on us and by the time we got home, we were totally drenched.  You’d think we went swimming in our hiking clothes!  I appreciate my hubby so much.  He had a meeting he could’ve attended, but he knew that I wanted to do this, so he didn’t go to the meeting.  I’m grateful he is striving to keep a balance, because he has had a few meetings lately that have encroached into family time.  I love him lots and dedicate this song-ography to him:

Waterfall by Chris Tomlin

Your love is like a waterfall, waterfall
Running wild and free
You hear my heart when I call, when I call
Deep calls, too deep
Your love is like a waterfall, waterfall
Raining down on me

Waterfall, waterfall

random notes from our NEW travels

Hey everyone! Well, we’re back from our travels to Minnesota.  We’ve never been to that beautiful state, so it was all NEW to us.  Above is my favorite photo from the trip.  I’m ECSTATIC that this photo turned out as well as it did, given that I used a longer shutter speed without a tripod!   Woohoo!  Minnesota was really green and pretty!  Tons of water in that state….especially this year!  The Mississippi river and all the creeks around town were almost at flood stage.  But Mother Nature was very kind to us, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there….only a trickle of rain the entire week. {Thank you!}  This photo is of Minnehaha Falls.  I love waterfalls!  They are so gorgeous and powerful!  I also enjoyed learning some of the local history.  Quite a bit of it related to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s epic poem, ‘The Song of Hiawatha’.  That was interesting, because I’m somehow related to the poet (probably in a round about way) and most of my time in MN was working on family history.  I’ll share a bit more in future posts about that.

Well, have a great Saturday!  Do or Learn something NEW!.
