Wednesday’s What’s NEW with YOU? (a tagging experience)

whatsnew

I’ve decided I’ll post a tagging experience every Wednesday, because I’d like to hear more about ‘What’s NEW with YOU’! I get to learn what’s NEW from sites I follow, but I’d like to know something NEW from other people who YOU follow (who I haven’t gotten acquainted with yet). And I figured maybe you would too.

So, If you’d like to participate, here’s what to do:

  • Write a post about something NEW you learned, or something you tried, did, experienced etc., and also include something NEW you learned about from another site you follow (be sure to link to the other site as well).
  • Please tag your post with “what’s-NEW?”  (if you’re not sure about how tags work, please check out this WordPress article about tagging posts)
  • Link (Pingback) your post to this post. That way, I can post all the great NEW stuff going on the following Wednesday for everyone to see.
  • Have fun realizing all the NEW things you do or learn!

Here’s mine for today:  I’m starting a NEW tagging experience on my blog every Wednesday, Oh! but you already knew that. Haha! What I’ve learned from another blog I follow: I’m learning very interesting things about the UK.  I’m traveling there next May, so I’m on the look out for everything possibly related. Here’s a wonderfully interesting post about London Pride, Pashley Garden, Ticehurst, UK at The Travel Lady in Her Shoes blog.  I would LOVE to visit those gardens when we go! The Travel Lady in Her Shoes has many, many other great posts as well!

Have a great day! Do or learn something NEW! And I hope you join this NEW tagging experience! :o)

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

Happy Monday!

So here’s my (very) weird photo of the week.  I noticed these shadows on my table, and thought, I should find something to take a photo of.  Well, it should be pickles, of course! Right? Haha! Ya, weird and random.  Typical Monday! But ya know…

“…never seeing nothing, being a photographer.” -Walter De Mulder

Other random stuff:

First of all, I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, and i’m trying…I’m trying hard! I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it! I haven’t started listening to Christmas music yet, but I’m getting the itch.  There’s SO much good Christmas music! December goes so fast! I haven’t caved yet.  I’ll let you know how I do. Discipline…I might need some!

I’m impressed with the creativity and imagination of this photographer: Brooke Shaden. I browsed through her gallery and loved every single piece. She’s incredible!

After booking a cruise to the Mediterranean for next summer, I changed my screensaver at work to this (just so I can psych myself up to go, ya know? :o)

mediterranean

Someone walked by my desk and asked, “Oh, is that Cinque Terre?”….Ummmm, IDK! I just googled ‘Mediterranean’ and this was the best image that popped up for a screensaver! (I learned something NEW!) Haha! I don’t even know if our boat with sail past this spot.  I hope it does! So colorful, huh?

So that is enough randomness. Have a great great day. Do or learn something NEW!

NEW brain cramps from the Five Male Characters Tag

malecharc

I thought I’d have a bit of fun and play along with the ‘Five Male Characters Tag’ that I found at Katie’s Cottage Books, who found it at Classics and Craziness, who found it at Revealed in Time! Haha!  And by FUN, I mean I strained my brain and ended up with cramps from trying to come up with these!  As soon as I publish this blog post, I’ll remember a hero, or a villain that impressed me more than these, but they just didn’t come to mind – of course!  But here goes:

Here are the RULES:

1.) List five of your favorite male characters. (book or screen)

2.) Tagging other people is optional.

3.) If you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.

4.) Link Back to ~   www.revealedintime.blogspot.com

CATEGORIES:

1.) Hero

2.) Villain

3.) Anti-Hero

4.) Best Book to Screen Adaptation

5.) Best character perception change

  1. HERO: It’s a toss-up!  I pick either Edmond Dantès from Count of Monte Cristo, or Jean Valjean from Les Miserables (thus the six photo collage instead of 5 photos :o)

edmond lesmis

2VILLAIN: I pick the Sheriff of Nottingham in the 1991 Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.

3. ANTI HERO: I pick Don Tillman from the book The Rosie Project.  I guess this book is being made into a movie, but I bet they’re having a hard time picking an actor to play Don!  Here’s a photo of the author of the book.  He actually kind of looks like a Don Tillman to me! Here’s some “Suggested Actors“.

4. BEST BOOK TO SCREEN: Easy!  I pick Dobby from Harry Potter.

5. BEST CHARACTER PERCEPTION CHANGE:  I pick Willie Stark from All the King’s Men. My perception of this character changed in the middle of the book and then it changed again at the end of the book! I didn’t realize there was  movie based on this book.  I think I’ll have to watch it.

So there you have it!  If you want to play this tag game (and strain your brain), let me know so I’ll be sure to read your picks!

Have a great day! Do or learn something NEW!
