Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday!
So…how do you like my new chair that my wonderful son and daughter-in-law painted/distressed for my Christmas present? I love it!
Other random stuff: I attended a fantastic Norman Rockwell exhibit recently and now I have a new appreciation for his illustrations. Many of his painting are so familiar but I wasn’t aware of the background story of most of them. He was politically-minded and many had a political message. Like these:
Now, because of that exhibit I want to watch the 1939 movie “Stagecoach”, read Dicken’s “Pickwick Papers” and learn more about the Dutch artist technique of Doorkijkje! So much NEW stuff to learn about…just from visiting an exhibit. :o)

Happy Sunday!
I think my favorite gospel subject is faith…and of course trust is very closely related – so I loved this quote. Perhaps it should say ‘Trust in the Lord is the key ingredient of miracles”. I also enjoyed re-reading this conference talk by Jean A. Stevens. The sub title is: As we develop greater faith and trust in the Lord, we can access His power to bless and deliver us.
She also quotes C. S. Lewis: “I pray because I can’t help myself. … I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God. It changes me.” It was an excellent talk with good reminders to exercise faith.

Happy Sunday!
I’m not sure why, but this buried mailbox and snowed on wreath put a smile on my face this week. Ah, the beauty of fresh snow!
And…for today’s short sermon, I’d just like to link to some awesome music – music that calms, inspires and makes me think of my Savior. Enjoy!

a NEW taste Tuesday
Happy Tuesday!
It was a happy day when a friend recently called to get a recipe that I haven’t made in years…I was happy to be forced into remembering this great recipe! I had made it for my son’s prom/dinner group (about a decade ago!)…and my friend remembered her son just raving about it. It is super easy, but delicious. We typically have mashed potatoes at our house, because my hubby is the mashed potato KING…that’s the only reason I haven’t made this baked potato topping in quite a few years.
It’s easy to remember: 1 pound butter; 1 pound sour cream; 1 pound bacon(cooked and crumbled); 1 bunch green onions. That’s it! Soften the butter and whip everything together. YUM!
You might also notice my baked potatoes wrapped in gold foil instead of tin foil. I love the look of the gold…but I sure had a hard time finding it! If you know a Sysco sales rep, check with him/her – that’s where I got mine, but again….that was about a decade ago (there’s 200 sheets in a box)! :o)
Have a great day! Do or learn or TASTE something NEW!

NEW thoughts on thyme and time
Happy Tuesday!
This lovely loaf of bread was a Christmas gift and it was so beautiful I just had to take a pic! It was delicious as well. I know this family is just as busy as we are, so I am very appreciative of the time they took to make and deliver this gift!
Secondly, I SO appreciate our friends and family who take the time to send us a simple Christmas card each year. We don’t see many of these families on a regular basis, and it is such a blessing to receive a card with their family photo and a short update on their lives. I once had a friend that said she hated getting cards like that because she felt everyone was bragging about all their accomplishments etc. I couldn’t disagree more! I LOVE these yearly updates!
Lastly, I appreciate the time people take to share their musical talents with others…especially during the Christmas season. I love, loVE, LOVE music and the sacred spirit it adds to Christmas!
This thyme bread was amazing!…and the more I think of TIME, the more blessed I feel that amazing people are all around us! Merry Christmas! Take the TIME to do or learn something NEW!
Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday!
This is Akaka Falls in Hilo, Hawaii. So powerful…and gorgeous! I love waterfalls so much.
OK…here’s a TOTALLY random, miscellaneous item for you: I recently poked around Wikipedia to find out about Lemuria – the hypothetical lost continent that was named after the Lemur (the animal)…because scientists were puzzled that lemurs fossils were found in Madagascar and India, but not Africa or the Middle East. So, they concluded that there must have been a ‘lost land’ located in the Indian Ocean. I had never heard of this theory before. My reading got even more interesting when I read about how people in 1890’s believed survivors from Lemuria lived in tunnels on Mount Shasta in California, and occasionally were seen walking the surface dressed in white robes. Wowza…far out stuff, man! :o)
Does anyone have any other far-out theories they’ve heard lately? HaHa, have a great day!
