a NEW edited photo of my week
Happy Wednesday! You know…sometimes you start playing around with photos and never know how they’ll turn out. This isn’t typically my ‘style’, but it sure was fun creating it! I never really imagined I’d turn out something this….this…abstract? weird? crazy? I’m just trying out NEW methods. It’s kind of liberating!
These pumpkins that I picked up from the store today went from this… to this…to this:

a NEW photo of my week #57
Happy Tuesday! Fall is definitely here! I texturized these pumpkins with Kim’ textures so I will link up to her site today.
I’m also wondering if I’m ambitious enough to try Dremel Pumpkin Carving this year. Some designs are very cool!
Have a great day! Try something NEW!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday! So along with the above collage of miscellaneous monochromes…here’s a few other random things I’ve found interesting lately:
I saw this recently and loved it!
The décor at my hubby’s work office…(the very few personal items he has there, at least)… is a bicycle theme – so I HAD to print this out and frame it for him to take to work. :o) It made me laugh.
I also recently read…
…and enjoyed it very much. Why? Because I’m such a brain science junkie, I guess. It had lots of research backing up their statements. I saw a lot of truth in it…just from observing people throughout the years. To boil it down very simply: Confidence is linked to DOING. The more we DO something, the more confident we are that we can succeed at it. I know that’s not rocket science, but the book had a lot of really good advice – especially for women, and it was well-written.
And lastly, as tradition goes…here’s my weekly NEW food find: I’ve never heard of taro root before – not to mention taro root ice cream. Sounds interesting! I hope to try it….sometime. :o)
Have a great day! Do or Learn something NEW!
a NEW photo of my week #56 and a short Sunday sermon
Happy Sunday! I chose to post this broken lantern today because this photo reminds me that we are all broken (or, at least, we are all imperfect)…but we can still be a light to others. Our imperfections can be forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love Sister Chieko Okazaki’s explanation of the atonement and what Christ did for each one of us…individually.

a NEW very tragic family history find
Hey! Happy Friday! I haven’t been out shooting lately {I really need to before the fall colors disappear!}…but I’ve been spending hours and hours and hours on family history. I think I’ll take a break and at least do the dishes. :o)
I thought I’d share the story of one family I’ve been researching. They had a very sad week in June of 1899. A brother and a brother-in-law were helping with a barn raising and something went terribly wrong and the wall they were putting up crashed down on them (and other men). The two family members died and then one of their wives died from the shock of hearing of her husband’s death! (Now I’m just so curious to know if she had a weak heart to begin with, OR WHAT?!?…I don’t think I’ll ever know.) Sad times!
Ok…the dishes are calling my name. Have a great weekend! Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW sign for my teenage son’s bathroom
Happy Tuesday! I recently read a story of a gas station in Kentucky that has amazingly clean restrooms. It turns out, they simply have a sign above their mirror that says: “Please pretend this is your own bathroom and that your mother is coming for a visit. Thank you.” {Ha! Genius!} So, I thought I’d post this sign in my boys bathroom to see if cleanliness improves! :o) I just told them to use their imaginations! I’ll return and report…wish me luck!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday! Well, in a previous post a few weeks ago, I mentioned I wanted to get an embossing gadget…so I did. :o) I love creating NEW textures on plain paper. And its soooo easy! Here’s my latest card: “Thank You…From The Bottom Of My Heart”. I thought I should go buy some clear plastic for the inside of the heart, but….here’s my secret tip…I just cut a heart out of a sandwich baggie (the two sides keep my little thank you’s in place). Yes, call me El-cheap-o! But, hey…it works!
It seems I’m always sharing yummy-looking recipes I want to try, and this week is no different. This Blackberry Peach Cobbler sounds delish! Right?!?!
Check out PinkPolkaDot Creations (HERE) for the recipe. PLUS there were WAY TOO MANY delicious-looking recipes at last Friday’s Foodie Linkup at Rattlebridge Farm blog. I don’t know what to try first! Probably the Garlic Parmesan Knots or the Lavender Lemon Sugar Cookies. OH YUM!
Well, have a great week ahead! Do or Learn OR bake something NEW!
