a NEW photo and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday!

I thought it was interesting how this particular species of moss can survive on these rocks even though the waves must beat over them hundreds and thousands of times a day.  This moss must cling to the rocks.  It must be very strong, resilient and determined to hang on.  I think this is a lesson for us!  We need to cling to our ‘Rock’ – our Savior Jesus Christ.

“Remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”(source)

a NEW photo of my week and a short Sunday sermon

Happy Sunday!  As I mentioned in a previous post, my hubby and I recently enjoyed leisurely walks along the Pacific Coast in Monterey, CA.  On one of those walks, we came across a section where a father and his children had built up dozens of cairns.  Hubby dubbed it ‘Cairn Cove’. :o)  Here’s a pic of just one of many!  It looked like the family was having a great time together.  Yup, family time — such a good thing!  It reminded me of this message…which we’ll use for today’s short Sunday sermon:
