a NEW sign for my teenage son’s bathroom
Happy Tuesday! I recently read a story of a gas station in Kentucky that has amazingly clean restrooms. It turns out, they simply have a sign above their mirror that says: “Please pretend this is your own bathroom and that your mother is coming for a visit. Thank you.” {Ha! Genius!} So, I thought I’d post this sign in my boys bathroom to see if cleanliness improves! :o) I just told them to use their imaginations! I’ll return and report…wish me luck!
Have a great day! Do or learn something NEW!
Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday! Well, in a previous post a few weeks ago, I mentioned I wanted to get an embossing gadget…so I did. :o) I love creating NEW textures on plain paper. And its soooo easy! Here’s my latest card: “Thank You…From The Bottom Of My Heart”. I thought I should go buy some clear plastic for the inside of the heart, but….here’s my secret tip…I just cut a heart out of a sandwich baggie (the two sides keep my little thank you’s in place). Yes, call me El-cheap-o! But, hey…it works!
It seems I’m always sharing yummy-looking recipes I want to try, and this week is no different. This Blackberry Peach Cobbler sounds delish! Right?!?!
Check out PinkPolkaDot Creations (HERE) for the recipe. PLUS there were WAY TOO MANY delicious-looking recipes at last Friday’s Foodie Linkup at Rattlebridge Farm blog. I don’t know what to try first! Probably the Garlic Parmesan Knots or the Lavender Lemon Sugar Cookies. OH YUM!
Well, have a great week ahead! Do or Learn OR bake something NEW!
a great NEW family history success story (not my own)
Happy Sunday! As many of you may know, I adore doing family history research. I also adore listening to genealogy success stories. So here’s one for you: The two elderly sisters above were separated at birth in England and then reunited 78 years later. Isn’t that great! You can listen to the story HERE. Their story goes from the 2 minute mark to the 4 minute mark into this program…(just a tip, so you don’t have to listen to all the other business :o)
And here’s a family history quote to ponder today:
“If you don’t know history, you don’t know anything.
You’re a leaf that doesn’t know it’s part of a tree.”
–Michael Crichton, Timeline, Knopf
Have a great day! Do something NEW!
a NEW iphone photo find
Happy Friday! Here’s my iPhone photo find of the week. This leaf was actually pretty tiny and I almost just stepped on it on my way into work one day. I thought it looked kind of cool with the water droplets, so I quickly snapped a pic. I love how photography has trained me to LOOK for small little droplets of beauty in our world! Have a great day! Do or Learn something NEW!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share
Happy Monday! I think I’ve already mentioned I visited a nearby arboretum recently…so yes, I have PLENTY of beautiful floral pics to last me for quite a while! I just wish I was better at remember the plant/flower names. You know…it’s tough!!! Even the lady giving us a tour incorrectly pointed out a plant that I know is Russian Sage, and she called it Russian Thistle :o) There’s just sooooo many plants that even the experts get mixed up now and again, I guess.
So…a few miscellaneous and random sites I’ve enjoyed recently:
I really liked Life In Between’s 100th Blog Post…it is a post for all of us trivia lovers that like to learn something NEW (although…hmmm…what to do with that knowledge…I do NOT know! :o) ALSO…I love, love, LOVE why Jodi called her blog ‘Life In Between’:
In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed. Sid Caesar
Go check her site out! You’ll love it!
And lastly, some ice cream recipes to put on my to-try list:
Healthy Oreo Ice Cream (for my body-building/health-conscious son who adores oreo ice cream!) AND…Two Ingredient Ice Cream Bread! What?!?! I’ll be sure to mention a review of these once I try them out. -OR- if any of you have tried either of them, PLEASE let me know what you think!
Have a great Monday! Do or Learn something NEW!
a NEW quote that i somehow missed
Happy Sunday! Here’s a quote I ran across recently which I LOVED…and I also love that it is referenced to this great man: President Dieter F Uchtdorf! However, I’m pretty sure I listened to this talk (I just don’t remember that quote…maybe I just needed my memory jogged!) The talk was ‘Grateful in Any Circumstances”. Such good advice!
Have a great day! Do or Learn or jog your memory with something NEW!
ps: This quote was on pinterest and it wasn’t linked to a site where I could give credit to the graphic designer. Sorry! (I really would if I could :o)
a NEW lingering look at (a dilapidated) window
