Hallelujah! At least one of my photos turned out decent. We quickly rushed through Temple Square to see the lights before attending another event in downtown Salt Lake, and this one was really the only decent photo I got. I hope to get back up there with more time to shoot soon!
For a few years now, I’ve read this short little book toward the beginning of each December. I’ve enjoyed starting off the Christmas season this way. I like the mystery aspect of this little book, and I love how, every year, the book makes me want to be a better person….(by emulating the example of the deceased grandfather in the story).
I just ordered the DVD off Amazon. So, from now on, for a NEW Christmas tradition I can either read the book or watch the video! I hope the video is as good as the book…I’ll let you know! 🙂
I went out shooting yesterday and was a bit disappointed at the lack of…really anything, that caught my eye. I came home and told my hubby that along with “No Shave November” (my son has a bushy, bushy beard)…this month should also be known as “Nothing to shoot November”!
However, I’ve learned that a good photographer can create a good photo out of nothing…so I ventured out and gave it my best shot 🙂
For the top photo, I’ll link to Song-ography. I was inspired by the great photos in this week’s song video:
Also, this week on Scavenger Hunt Sunday, the prompts were: Starts w/S, Texture, A Blessing, Warmth, and I Went. Here are my interpretations:
Starts w/S: Stuck!
Texture
A Blessing: Friends that bring you cookies to enjoy!
Warmth: Is this too much of a stretch? Firewood is potential warmth, right? 🙂
I Went…to the park to get a shot of Mt Timpanogos.
Hi all! If you remember when I posted the before and after photos of our kitchen remodel, I mentioned we had a few unfinished projects left to go. Well, the board and batten project in our dining room is now finished…yeah! 🙂
As you can see, I now have MORE LEDGES TO DUST! But I like the look enough to suffer through the unpleasant side-effects!
Happy Friday everyone! Well, it’s soup season, right? This week I tried a NEW soup recipe and thought I’d give it a review. I made Wisconsin Cauliflower Soup, and although I liked it…it was NOT a copycat version of Zupa’s (as it was advertised). My hubby and I went to Zupa’s just a few weeks ago, and I had their WCS…so the flavor is quite fresh in my memory :)…but sadly, I don’t think this recipe comes quite close enough to call it copycat. BUT…I’m really glad I tried it. I’ve never made cauliflower soup before, so I got to learn something NEW! I give this soup recipe three out of five stars. Now, IF it had been a true Zupa’s copycat it would’ve been five out of five stars! 🙂
Hi all! So it’s THAT time of year again!….the time when you can find cinnamon-scented pine cones in your grocery store 🙂 Yeah! I LOVE the smell of cinnamon! And I love having my car smell good. I typically buy the tree-shaped air fresheners that last…oh what?…maybe 2 or 3 days? But I recently bought these pine cones and left them in the back seat of my car…and ummmm! They still smell really good! Try it out!
Did you know, cinnamon is used as a physical and emotional stimulant? Researchers have found that it reduces drowsiness (that’s a good scent to leave in your car, right?)… irritability, and the pain and number of headaches. In one study, the aroma of cinnamon in the room helped participants to concentrate and perform better! (source)
Try a NEW scent in your car, or DO or LEARN something else NEW! Have a great day!
I tried a NEW soup recipe….and ok, WHY have I never made homemade tomato soup???? This recipe was DELICIOUS!!!
I recently visited my Mom and she was raving over my sister’s homemade tomato soup. So I texted my sister and asked for the recipe…(she just got it online, but didn’t keep it)! So this recipe linked HERE is one of the top google searched tomato soup recipes, and OH.MY!…it is REALLY yummy!
My hubby and I keep saying we need to convert more to a plant-based diet. Well, this recipe is a keeper and our vegan Daughter-In-Law will be soooo proud of us if we eat in this style more often! 🙂
Have a great day! Do OR Learn something NEW today!
Hi all! I thought I’d share my NEW November mantle today. (I couldn’t leave the Halloween witches up until I put up my Christmas stockings, right?)
I think I’ll try to make my mantle different each month….or at least something NEW as often as I can! Does anyone have any ideas for January’s mantle? Let me know!
