NEW {repurposed} Halloween Decor

witches

Less than a week until Halloween! Eek!  I’ve gotta go buy bags of candy 😮  I don’t have a ton of Halloween decorations, but I thought I’d share this year’s Halloween mantle with you today.  Sorry the photo is at a weird angle…it was hard not to get some light reflecting off the picture frame glass.  (Yes, I was WAY TOO lazy to take the glass out!)

I saw this print of vintage witches last year, and ordered the print quite some time ago.  I recently got around to framing it, and then whipped out the candles we had from my son’s wedding earlier in the year:

And wha-la!  Repurposed Halloween mantle.  So easy!  Just a bit of fake cobwebs to finish it off.  It looks especially spooky with all the candles “lit”.

Have you decorated for Halloween?  Do or Learn something NEW! Have a great day!

Royal Icing Accents

Each time I make and decorate cookies, it seems I always have left-over icing. About a month ago, I was trying to be efficient and knew I’d need some wacky eyes for Halloween cookies this month. So I made a bunch of eyes and stored them away.

It was REALLY nice to whip them out, and have them ready to go!  From now on, I’m going to try and use up all the left-over icing after each cookie-making session. At Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle there is a terrific tutorial about making accents from left-over icing. Plan ahead and make some NEW accents for future use!

Lovin’ my NEW hobby of blogging!

My new hobby of blogging has been a lot of fun! I love being inspired by other bloggers….I love laughing at their funny and sometimes sarcastic posts….I love learning NEW things from them! I REALLY appreciate the time they take to post all the interesting things that they do! (Because now I realize…it’s a bit time consuming…but worth it!) One of the FUNNEST things I experienced, is winning a prize from a blog I follow. Doesn’t winning something just MAKE YOUR DAY!?!?! Winning this cute pillow recently from Pink Polka Dot Creations did just that! Thanks Rita!

Easy Peasy NEW wreath

How fast can you make a NEW Halloween wreath? Super fast!….Just spray paint a grapevine wreath, spread dollar store spider web over it and hot glue spiders and letters on it! Fast and Easy….my type of project :o)

How fast can you make something NEW?
