a NEW photo of my week #56 and a short Sunday sermon

lanternbrokeframed

Happy Sunday!  I chose to post this broken lantern today because this photo reminds me that we are all broken (or, at least, we are all imperfect)…but we can still be a light to others.  Our imperfections can be forgiven through the atonement of Jesus Christ.  I love Sister Chieko Okazaki’s explanation of the atonement and what Christ did for each one of us…individually.

a NEW iphone photo find

wetleaf

Happy Friday!  Here’s my iPhone photo find of the week.  This leaf was actually pretty tiny and I almost just stepped on it on my way into work one day.  I thought it looked kind of cool with the water droplets, so I quickly snapped a pic.  I love how photography has trained me to LOOK for small little droplets of beauty in our world!  Have a great day!  Do or Learn something NEW!

a NEW photo of my week #54 and some great advice

sisters

I took this photo of these two sisters so quickly that I’m kind of shocked it was even in focus!  I just thought they were SO cute, but I get SO nervous taking pics of strangers…especially children with their parents close by …(cuz I didn’t ask permission or anything…ya know?)…sketchy-scary! So I was trying to hurry and capture this image while their Mom had her head turned. (I think she saw me though)…Whew!  I’m so glad she didn’t confront me and tear my camera off my neck and throw it into the pond!  :o) Haha!

Anyway…moving onward…please enjoy some great advice from a great lady:

NEW photo of my week #53

serenity

Happy Friday! So…my 16 year old son wasn’t impressed with this still-life creation…or at least he wouldn’t admit it.  We were waiting in the drive-up lane at In & Out and I asked my son to jump out and pick a few stems from a plant that was close by.  He did…and then I came home to play!  The above was the result. When I showed my son the edited  photo and thanked him for picking the stems, he didn’t seem too impressed.  Surprise, surprise!  :o)

Have a great weekend!  Do or learn something NEW!…even if it’s picking plants at fast-food restaurants!

a NEW Thursday Thought

beecalm

Ahhh…Busyness! It’s a balancing act!  I previously posted that I agree with the saying: “Stop the Glorification of Busy”…which I still agree with (previous post HERE).  BUT, I also know that life happens.  Sometimes we’re busier than other times.  So…here’s some GOOD advise for those times:  Bee calm and carry on.  Bees are VERY productive…always busy, busy, busy; but they go about their business so calmly!  I think they’re a great example!

Have a great Thursday!  Do or learn something NEW!
