a NEW iphone photo find

wetleaf

Happy Friday!  Here’s my iPhone photo find of the week.  This leaf was actually pretty tiny and I almost just stepped on it on my way into work one day.  I thought it looked kind of cool with the water droplets, so I quickly snapped a pic.  I love how photography has trained me to LOOK for small little droplets of beauty in our world!  Have a great day!  Do or Learn something NEW!

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

yellowflower

Happy Monday!  I think I’ve already mentioned I visited a nearby arboretum recently…so yes, I have PLENTY of beautiful floral pics to last me for quite a while!  I just wish I was better at remember the plant/flower names.  You know…it’s tough!!!  Even the lady giving us a tour incorrectly pointed out a plant that I know is Russian Sage, and she called it Russian Thistle :o)  There’s just sooooo many plants that even the experts get mixed up now and again, I guess.

So…a few miscellaneous and random sites I’ve enjoyed recently:

I really liked Life In Between’s 100th Blog Post…it is a post for all of us trivia lovers that like to learn something NEW (although…hmmm…what to do with that knowledge…I do NOT know! :o)  ALSO…I love, love, LOVE why Jodi called her blog ‘Life In Between’:

In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed. Sid Caesar

Go check her site out!  You’ll love it!

And lastly, some ice cream recipes to put on my to-try list:

Healthy Oreo Ice Cream  (for my body-building/health-conscious son who adores oreo ice cream!)  ANDTwo Ingredient Ice Cream Bread!  What?!?!  I’ll be sure to mention a review of these once I try them out.  -OR- if any of you have tried either of them, PLEASE let me know what you think!

Have a great Monday!  Do or Learn something NEW!

a NEW quote that i somehow missed

uchtdorfquote

Happy Sunday!  Here’s a quote I ran across recently which I LOVED…and I also love that it is referenced to this great man:  President Dieter F Uchtdorf!  However, I’m pretty sure I listened to this talk (I just don’t remember that quote…maybe I just needed my memory jogged!)  The talk was ‘Grateful in Any Circumstances”.  Such good advice!

Have a great day!  Do or Learn or jog your memory with something NEW!

ps: This quote was on pinterest and it wasn’t linked to a site where I could give credit to the graphic designer.  Sorry!  (I really would if I could :o)

Miscellaneous Monday…NEW stuff i gotta share

peppermint

OK…I’m getting REAL CHEAP these days!  I was in the checkout line at Walmart and the peppermint patties were calling my name.  I picked up the bag and checked out the price.  I would’ve gotten four…maybe five MINIATURE peppermint patties for $1.  I thought to myself – What a RIP-off!…and then I remembered I’d seen a recipe for homemade peppermint patties online….somewhere…oh yeah…HERE!  So, I assume you can tell what I did.  I made a HUGE batch of peppermint patties for about $1-2 dollars!  They taste exactly like store-bought patties…but mine weren’t so perfect-looking.  But I think if I practice, their looks could improve. :o)

And…another thing I’ve gotta share…which I think is a BRILLIANT tip:  Take a power strip on vacations! GENIUS!  You know, hotel power outlets are few and far between, right?!?  So, with the whole family’s phones, and iPads/Pods etc. needing charging every night, that is one tip I hope to implement on our next trip! I discovered that tip HERE.

I hope you all have a fabulous day!  Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW photo of my week #54 and some great advice

sisters

I took this photo of these two sisters so quickly that I’m kind of shocked it was even in focus!  I just thought they were SO cute, but I get SO nervous taking pics of strangers…especially children with their parents close by …(cuz I didn’t ask permission or anything…ya know?)…sketchy-scary! So I was trying to hurry and capture this image while their Mom had her head turned. (I think she saw me though)…Whew!  I’m so glad she didn’t confront me and tear my camera off my neck and throw it into the pond!  :o) Haha!

Anyway…moving onward…please enjoy some great advice from a great lady:

Happy Sunday!  Have a great Sabbath and do or learn something NEW!

NEW photo of my week #53

serenity

Happy Friday! So…my 16 year old son wasn’t impressed with this still-life creation…or at least he wouldn’t admit it.  We were waiting in the drive-up lane at In & Out and I asked my son to jump out and pick a few stems from a plant that was close by.  He did…and then I came home to play!  The above was the result. When I showed my son the edited  photo and thanked him for picking the stems, he didn’t seem too impressed.  Surprise, surprise!  :o)

Have a great weekend!  Do or learn something NEW!…even if it’s picking plants at fast-food restaurants!
