I have a VERY talented niece! She took her mother’s wedding dress and TOTALLY transformed it! I missed going to the wedding, because it was multiple states away, but my other sisters were ohhing and awhing about the dress recently, so I had to go see it for myself (she’s local now). Fabulous.Gorgeous.Beautiful!!!

Whew! I’m FINALLY done entertaining for a while! We have had soooooo many ‘events’ around here lately! I’m kind of exhausted!!! :o) However I did have a bit of energy to dig out the Easter decor over the weekend. (None too soon, since Easter comes pretty early this year!) I took a few pics: the ‘old’ decor is my fabric covered styrofoam easter eggs. I’ve loved them for years…and the best part is: I didn’t make them! My lovely Mother-in-law made them and gave them to us YEARS ago. I poked around to see if there were any tutorials that I could share in case you’re interested in making some. These are pretty close, but I think my MIL actually used a butter knife and tucked the fabric into the groove then finished off with embellishments.

My NEW decor this year is this VERY SIMPLE glass jar filled with eggs…finished off with burlap and ribbon. Truth be told: I got these eggs for FREE. You know when you buy a washing machine at the local appliance store and they give you a “rebate” of $30-$40 to get to you come back into their store?….but the store really doesn’t have anything at all for that price? (Well they have a very few things. These eggs for example). So that’s how I got them for ‘free’.
This week I was at the top of some bleachers taking photos of my son playing tennis, but when I turned and looked behind me at the football field, I liked this photo opp as well! I’m assuming these lacrosse players are stretching either before or after their practice. Too bad I didn’t have my wide-angle lens on because their were A LOT more players in this exact position! It would’ve been nice to capture the entire field!…nevertheless, this is my NEW photo of the week. Have a great day everyone!

I’m dreaming of the day when I can sit back and relax…and watch a bunch of Julia Roberts movies! I really like Julia as an actress, so I recently found a list of all the movies she’s been in. So when I have the time, I’m going to watch all of them that aren’t rated R. (I don’t like to watch the junk that are in rated R movies) So I thought I’d share my list with you. I’m totally thrilled! The little sewing corner in my laundry room (which I blogged about earlier) has now expanded! I now have a cabinet for my baskets….the ‘drawer’ above the baskets will actually be a pull-out ironing board (not finished quite yet)…and a hutch for ribbon and wrapping paper! I’m SO excited to efficiently use that space in my laundry room! Here are a few details:
There are three notches for the dowels in each row. That way I can either stagger the paper/ribbon or use one, two or all three spaces!
I’ll use the cupboard on the left to store other gift-giving paraphernalia like bows, small gift bags, etc. The cupboard on the right will be used for the additional sewing supplies that I don’t have up on the peg-board. I’m love, loVE, LOVING it! Happy Valentines Day!

I’ve made some Valentine’s Day cookies for a few neighbors and I really like the NEW frosting recipe I used. (I should have taken the photo after I added the cute little chocolates to the plate, but oh well!) I found the frosting recipe at Karen’s Cookies. I used the buttercream one. The flavor is yummy and it’s doesn’t dry as hard as royal icing. I like it a lot! If I were shipping these, or wanted to make sure the frosting didn’t get ‘dinged’ while transporting them, maybe I’d stick with the royal icing. But it was fun to try this NEW recipe! Everyone have a LOVELY Valentine’s Day tomorrow!
I recently visited My Pen and Me and browsed through that site that had a photo of their favorite tree. I remembered I had taken a photo of my favorite tree a couple of years ago. Hmmm…I recently organized all my photo! :o)! I thought I should be able to find it easily. I could! I did! I thought I’d share it!
Just so you all know….I’m experiencing NEWness almost every day…but I’m a bit busy to blog about it! It’s not really the newness I prefer, but it’s ok. I’m planning about 5 big parties in the next three weeks, so I have NEW serving platters, NEW balloons and helium tank, NEW recipes I’m trying, NEW ties and suspenders for my boys, (I’ve still got to get out and buy me a NEW outfit or two)…NEW decorations etc.
After about 5 weeks I plan to get out on more photo shoots! Maybe it will be Spring by then! Happy Monday to you all!

I liked this quote and thought I’d post it with a photo of Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park. The geyser’s faithfulness is amazing and it’s evident there is A LOT of strength lying beneath this otherwise unassuming piece of earth!
