NEW photo of my week #53

serenity

Happy Friday! So…my 16 year old son wasn’t impressed with this still-life creation…or at least he wouldn’t admit it.  We were waiting in the drive-up lane at In & Out and I asked my son to jump out and pick a few stems from a plant that was close by.  He did…and then I came home to play!  The above was the result. When I showed my son the edited  photo and thanked him for picking the stems, he didn’t seem too impressed.  Surprise, surprise!  :o)

Have a great weekend!  Do or learn something NEW!…even if it’s picking plants at fast-food restaurants!

I’ll link to Kim Klassens’ Friday Finds!

a NEW Thursday Thought

beecalm

Ahhh…Busyness! It’s a balancing act!  I previously posted that I agree with the saying: “Stop the Glorification of Busy”…which I still agree with (previous post HERE).  BUT, I also know that life happens.  Sometimes we’re busier than other times.  So…here’s some GOOD advise for those times:  Bee calm and carry on.  Bees are VERY productive…always busy, busy, busy; but they go about their business so calmly!  I think they’re a great example!

a NEW Get-to-know-you collage

collage

Hi all!  This week I did something NEW.  The collage above is a ‘Get-to-know-you’ collage I made.  I LOVE getting inspiration from flickr, so this was a fun activity for me!  I originally got the idea from Paperseed and Another Beautiful Day blogs  (years ago…it’s been on my to-do list for QUITE a while!!! :o)

Here’s how to make your own Get-to-know-you collage:

1)Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr search.

2) Pick any image that results from  your search for each question

3) Copy images into a collage

QUESTIONS:

1. What is your first name?

2. What is your favorite food?

3. What month were you born?

4. What is your favorite color?

5. Are you a morning person or a night person?

6. What is your favorite drink?

7. What is your dream vacation?

8.  What is your favorite dessert?

9.  What is your favorite sport?

10.  What do you love most in life?

11.  What is one word to describe you?

12.  Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

My answers:

1)Lenore 2)Halibut 3)December 4)Blue 5)Morning 6)Peach Italian Soda 7)Cruise 8)German Chocolate Cake 9)Racquetball 10)Family 11)Quiet 12)Introvert

Fun activity!  I never knew there was a Lake Lenore in Washington (that photo popped up when I searched for my name).  Now I think that destination needs to be on my travel bucket list!  Also, Halibut (Halibut Point in Massachusetts) should also be on it! Right?  Lovely, inspirational photos!

Have a great day!  Do or learn something NEW!

Happy Tuesday!  Well, I tried a NEW recipe this week.  It was SUPER easy and delish!!! {Thanks to my sister…who made it for my Mom…who told me about it!}  Just search in Pinterest for Sopapilla Cheesecake and lots of recipes pop up!  I had FUN with this photoshoot…because I finally used the vintage beaters I acquired some time ago (THIS POST featured my hunt for those :o)

NEW photo of my week #52 and a NEW video

patch

Happy Sunday!  I had to share this profile pic of my son’s puppy, Patch.  SUCH a cute doggie!  My son is grown now, but he and his three younger brothers occasionally liked to get into mischief…what little boys don’t, right?  That’s why I loved this video.  SUCH a good message!  I know you’ll enjoy watching it!  Have a great day!  Do or learn something NEW!

a NEW photo for A Lingering Look At Windows

window

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  When I took this photo of this window on our vacation, I specifically thought about the  ‘A Lingering Look at Windows’ link up….but then it took a while to sift through the vacation photos!  This is at a very public spot….can anyone recognize this window?  Ok, ok…a hint:  It’s in the state of Oregon.  Anyone? Anyone? :o)   A gold star for anyone who gets it right!

a NEW reflection photo of my week #50

Reflection.  Such a good thing! This bridge was just outside our hotel room in Portland, Oregon last week.  I hope this photo will remind me to stop and reflect more often.

Also…I’ve been very excited lately to learn some close friends and family are expecting babies soon.  I LOVE children!  They are such a blessing!…and I whole-heartedly agreed with this video’s message:

Having Children In Faith

NEW monochrome pics

BWfoggybeach2

Happy Saturday!  You know, I believe these are the only black/white photos I’ve ever posted!  I really love B/W photography, but I’ve never seemed to get the right images for it.  However, these photos from a foggy beach in Northern California seemed to work out ok since they were pretty colorless  photos to begin with.  Lots and lots of fog that day!
