NEW sheet music to play

I LOVE living in this age of technology!  I was recently really tired of all my sheet music and wanted something NEW to play (Imagine that! :o)  It was about 7am on a Saturday morning, (when all the music stores were still closed),  and I was downloading me some NEW tunes to play!  Awesome!

I’ve used AaronWaite.com and MusicNotes.com.  Both sites let you listen to a sample of the piece before you download it!  And Presto! New sheet music to start learning ASAP!  I just think it’s a great time to live!

NEW tree decor

It seems that for the last 99 years (or at least 9) I’ve been saying “Next year I’m getting NEW tree ornaments”!  Seriously!  Each year the Christmas season seemed to come and go too quickly and it never happened.  Yet, this year it happened!  I’m soooo thrilled! Yeah! NEW tree and ornaments!  Woohoo!  Merry Christmas!

a NEW recommendation

I have a NEW recommendation for you!  This company does not know I exist (so, no, they’re not paying me for this).  And I didn’t know this little tool existed either…until last week.

I was excited to put up our new Christmas tree because it is the pre-lit kind.  (Putting lights on the tree has been my hubby’s job, and no, he didn’t particularly enjoy it).  So, I brought the tree home from the store and put it up.  See that dark section?  Not very lovely!!!  My hubby looked and looked for the bad bulb, but that was  a nightmare since there is a coat of flocking all over the bulbs.  So I went back into the store and they told me I could take down my tree and bring it back in – OR – buy the little tool that they use and try to find the bad bulb ourselves.  I chose the latter!  It took less than three minutes to find the bad bulb with the help of this little guy.  NICE!

Happy Decorating!

(I bought mine at Lowes; see link here; but I think they’re cheaper at Amazon)

a NEW favorite vintage photo

Oh my goodness!  I LOVE this vintage photograph of Niagara Falls!  (I really hope it’s real, and not a photoshop’d fake!…That would be sad!)  Recently, I was curious to know whether Niagara Falls ever froze over;  so I did some researched to find out.   I visited Niagara Falls this last summer (highly recommended!!!)….and since there was such an amazing, vast amount of water, I wondered how it could possibly freeze.  So, after researching my question….the answer is…..maybe/maybe not.  Apparently it’s hard to tell whether it’s been completed frozen, or just partially frozen over.  There’s some interesting information on Snopes.com regarding this subject as well as other great photos!

NEW ideas for Honey Butter

Fresh scones!  Yummy!….BUT they HAVE to have honey butter on them, right?  As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, if you happen to leave roll dough in the freezer a bit too long, (and they decide they don’t want to raise), just make scones!  I searched the web for variations on honey butter recently and thought I’d share with you what I found:

Tidy Mom (one of my very favorite sites) has a great recipe for Cinnamon Honey Butter -AND- a great gift idea!

Also Simply So Good had a recipe which I have to try soon!  It reminds me of the  really yummy Raspberry Butter I had at a restaurant on a recent weekend trip.  If it’s even tastes close….I know it will be fantastic!

Try some NEW variations of honey butter!  Let me know of any you can recommend ok?  Have a terrific day!

no NEW recipe this Thanksgiving

Hi all!  Well, as you know, I love, loVE, LOVE trying NEW things….but I never get to try any NEW recipes for Thanksgiving because we typically travel to a family member’s home and I’m always asked to bring my famous rolls!  They are REALLY yummy!  I got the recipe from an elderly friend years ago (she was quite famous for her dinner rolls too).  So, I’m just sayin’….it’s a GREAT recipe!  Try it out!

Sometimes I put some left-over dough in the freezer and bake the rolls another day….however I occasionally forget they’re there and when I pull them out, they really don’t rise very well.  BUT!….in that case, I just make scones out of them….(see tomorrow’s post for more info).

Do  you get to try NEW recipes for Thanksgiving?….Or are you always expected to bring a specialty?  Everyone have a terrific Turkey Day this week!

a NEW dinner routine

I think I may have a NEW dinner routine.  The routine used to be:  prepare food, set the table, sit down, bless it, enjoy it!  Now (occasionally…depending on what’s for dinner) the routine is:  prepare food, set the table, sit down, bless it, take photo with iPhone for possible use on blog, enjoy it.  :o)   I wanted to share this recipe because it’s delicious!  It’s my son’s favorite meal, so that right there, is SAYING A LOT!
